Development did not stop in the case of the UR III series either. The series was significantly modernised and in 1998 relaunched under the commercial name of Forterra. Unlike the current models of the UR III, the Forterra was manufactured exclusively with four-wheel drive. The first series included steel bodywork with moderate downward inclination. The heaviest model was the 11641 with a six-cylinder engine with the power of 115 hp (85 kW). The second Forterra series then offered 6 models in the power range from 80 to 130 hp (59 – 96 kW) and emission level Stage III. The wheel rim color was changed to light grey.
